Base metrics:

• Absolute delta: \( \Delta = C - B \) (in kt CO₂e).
• Percentage variation: \( r = \dfrac{C - B}{B} \times 100\% \).

When we show %: only if \( |B| \ge 300 \,\text{kt} \), there is no sign change (\( B \cdot C \ge 0 \)) and the jump is not extreme (\( |C/B| \le 3 \)).

Climate semantics: We consider it an improvement when the value decreases: for emitters (\( B>0 \), \( C>0 \)), if \( C < B \); for sinks (\( B<0 \), \( C<0 \)), if \( C < B \) (more negative). If zero is crossed (\( B\cdot C < 0 \)) we show Sign change.
